1. Information We Collect

When you submit a quote request or contact us, we collect the information you provide directly: your name, email address, phone number (optional), device model, and a description of the issue.

When you buy a ZXW Tools license from our store, we collect your email address (provided to us by Stripe or PayPal at checkout), your order details (order number, amount paid, purchase date, and the license code we issue to you), and, only if you choose to enter one, a billing address for your invoice. We do not receive or store your full card number or PayPal login; those are handled by the payment processor (see Section 5).

Beyond standard server logs (IP address, browser type, referring URL) and the analytics described in Section 7, we do not collect any additional information automatically.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide solely to:

Respond to your quote request or inquiry
Communicate with you about your repair
Deliver your ZXW Tools license and support your purchase
Send your invoice and shipping information
Send a follow-up email asking how your repair or purchase went and inviting you to leave a review

We do not use your information for marketing purposes without your explicit consent, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to any third party.

3. Device Data

When you send us a device for repair, we access only the data necessary to diagnose and perform the repair. We do not copy, extract, transmit, or retain any personal data stored on your device. All device data remains strictly confidential.

4. Email Communications

Quote requests submitted through our website, as well as the license, invoice, and review-request emails we send you, are transmitted via Amazon Web Services Simple Email Service (AWS SES). These communications are encrypted in transit. We retain correspondence for the purpose of supporting your repair, purchase, and warranty claims.

5. Store Purchases and Payments

Card payments are processed by Stripe and PayPal payments are processed by PayPal. You enter your payment details on their secure pages or checkout components, and they handle that information under their own privacy policies (Stripe, PayPal). We never see or store your full card number.

We receive and keep your email address, the amount paid, and your order and license details so that we can deliver your license, email your invoice, and support your purchase. The billing address field at checkout is optional; if you fill it in, we use it only to print on your invoice and store it with your order record.

6. Data Retention

We retain your contact information and repair history for up to 2 years to support warranty claims and repeat service. Store order records (your email address, order and license details, and any billing address you entered) are kept for as long as needed to support your license and meet our accounting and tax record-keeping obligations. You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing us at support@microsoldering.com, and we will delete what we are not required to keep.

7. Cookies, Analytics, and Third-Party Services

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this site, such as which pages are viewed and how people find us. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and collects information such as your approximate location, device, and browser. We send it only non-identifying events; we never pass your name, email address, phone number, billing address, or the details you enter into our forms to Google Analytics.

If you are visiting from the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Google Analytics runs only after you choose Accept on our cookie banner. If you decline, it is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set, and you can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of the page. Visitors from other countries are not shown the banner, and Google Analytics runs automatically.

We use Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise on our quote form to protect it from spam and abuse. reCAPTCHA analyzes how you interact with the page and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Our store also loads PayPal's checkout button, and PayPal may set its own cookies.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking these scripts may stop the quote form or checkout from working.

8. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
