What is Board Separation?
Starting with the iPhone X, Apple folds the logic board in half — two circuit boards sandwiched together — to fit more components into a smaller phone. When a repair requires access to the lower board, or when liquid damage has spread between the layers, the boards must be carefully separated under a microscope using heat and specialized tools. This adds significant bench time and complexity, which is reflected in the higher price.
Not every repair on these models requires board separation. Many common issues — no charge, no power, boot loops — can often be resolved without it. We always attempt the lower-cost repair path first.

Service Notes
• Quotes are valid for 7 days from the date issued.
• Turnaround is typically 2–5 business days for standard repairs; data recovery averages 1–4 weeks.
• Prior repair surcharge: $100 if a previous repair attempt was made on the board.
• Unrequoted repairs carry a minimum $65 bench fee.
• Software restore fee: $20.
• Shipping insurance is optional: $5 for the first $100 of value, then $2 per additional $100.
• Passcode required for warranty coverage. Alternatively, factory reset and iCloud unlock before shipping.
• Invoices must be paid within 30 days; unpaid devices may be forfeited.
