This has been happening a lot with iPhone X screen repairs.  After the screen repair, with the screen connected to the logic board, but not reassembled with the frame yet, you turn on to test everything and all tests fine, then as soon as you reassemble the phone, there is no power going to it.  The screen goes dark, itunes doesn’t recognize it and just a whole lot of nothing.  Well, the problem is another bad design by Apple.

What’s happening is that the metal part of the screen is shorting out one of the capacitors on the pp1v8_IO line.

It just happens to be that that one capacitor is sticking out past the charge port, just enough that the middle tab on the screen touches it and shorts it out once the screen is reassembled onto the frame.

The good news is that this is an easy fix.  Just replace the shorted capacitor and all is good.  The bad news is that you’ll need some microscopic tools in order to do the job.  That’s what we’re here for!  If you want us to help you fix this problem, then fill out the quote form above and we’ll respond back as soon as possible.
